LEMON EUCALYPTUS–according to CDC, Lemon Eucalyptus is the most effective essential oil for a natural mosquito repellent. Although its name may be confusing, lemon eucalyptus is not two essential oils (lemon and eucalyptus) mixed together, rather lemon eucalyptus oil is one essential oil. It comes from the Citriodora eucalyptus tree native to Australia. Why does it work so well to keep these pests at bay? Lemon Eucalyptus Essential Oil contains a small amount of PMD (p-menthane-3,8-diol). PMD is an effective, long-acting mosquito repellent. One of the reasons for its longevity is that Lemon Eucalyptus evaporates slower than most other essential oils and lasts for several hours.
Use lemon eucalyptus for thisform an effective natural insect repellent- In a spray bottle, mix 2 ounces of witch hazel and 2 ounces of distilled water with 40-50 drops of essential oil (or 20-25 drops for children ages 3-9). Apply as often as necessary.Get 10+ recipes to customize your repellent with essential oils and full instructions here

MINT– To me, peppermint has a fresh, clean scent that reminds me of candy canes and Christmas, but to a lot of bugs it smells awful. They can't stand the smell and it drives them away. Peppermint is a great natural repellent for ants, aphids, bed bugs, bedbugs, roaches, fleas, fruit flies, mosquitoes, lice, moths, spiders, bugs and wasps.
