Jo is passionate about research that brings tangible benefits to farmers and has focused on her work since she received her PhD in Animal Husbandry and Genetics from the University of New EnglandUse practical tools to illustrate the benefits of making better herd improvement decisions on the farmJo is currently working as a Research Scientist within the Victorian Department of Agriculture's DairyBio program where she uses a multidisciplinary approach to develop and evaluate decision support tools that allow for more informed breeding and management decisions on farm. As a 2018 Endeavor Postdoctoral Fellow, Jo spent six months as a visiting researcher at Teagasc Moorepark in Ireland.

Joe has been active with numerous non-profit organizations throughout the agriculture sector, particularly advocacy and support for youth in agriculture. Jo was awarded the 2020 Order of Australia Medal (OAM) for her involvement and support of young people, her volunteer work and her contribution to dairy research.
